My dad's is 837 but my mom was p much responsible for that. I inherited responsibility almost 4 years ago. Freakin CPAs know how to game the system.

I'm sitting at 810 but I'm probably going to get dinged on the next quarter report for paying lawyer fees and paying off a loan.

I'm not really sure how to get in that range at this point. I've been in the 800's for over 10 years now. I'm guessing you won't be hitting that number until you have like a 40 year+ credit history.

My wife and I have scores over 800, we lease new cars every 36-39 months. I'll probably never finance or buy a car unless it's a Tesla or I use stock money to make a straight buy.

I like having new cars, I was driving an hour back and fourth to work the last 3 years and my car pretty much drove itself. Was pretty nice for shift work coming home at 5am. Technology jumps so much in just 3 years and paying 300-400 a month for 50k cars is pretty nice.

My car is up in May with the career change going back to school etc I'll probably still lease something around 300 a month like a Tundra or something.

    I wish I only drove 10k miles a year.

Yea, before COVID i was avg about 30k miles a year, so a lease wasn't something i could do. That said i do enjoy having a paid-off car. I tend to drive mine into the ground. Most of the cars i retire sit around 300k+ miles.

That said, a few more months i will know what my new "Normal" is when it comes to driving to work. If it gets me under the 5k a year mark, it would be nice to have a new car every few years.

Between two cars 12 to 15k on each for the lease.

I was driving 40miles each way to work but me and my coworker swapped driving each day that helped. Now wife and I are both local, her hospital is a 7 minute drive and where I'll wit work before going there is even closer.

I wish I could ride my bike to work but 1) Fuck riding a bike at 4:45am and 2) Fuck riding a bike at 2pm when its 100°F outside. and 3) I usually leave work to pick up fast food for lunch.

BUT, my commute is only 4 miles each way. I have sub-70k miles on my 13 year old car and now I'm splitting time between that car and one of my dad's car that has even fewer miles (lol mom's commute was 1 mile, 15 year old car, still sub-50k miles)

Also no idea why I show 850 for mine. I have a mortgage (almost paid off), I've had a cashback credit card for 8ish years and my student loans were paid off a decade ago. I'm 4.5 years into a car loan too. Have two other CC's I used once (Lowe's for washer/dryer, Carecredit for wisdom teeth) but they've been unused for months, if not a year+ at this point.

Having to get in a car to get lunch is still mind boggling to me. I went to our Atlanta office for a week and was floored that I had to spend 20-30min of my lunch just to travel to a shitty fast food place for food.

My food radius is like 2.5 miles. 4 miles if I'm not doing lab work for the day and can do lunch + eat at my desk. It's also like 9/10am lunches because I start my shift at 5am and I'm hourly so I have to take lunch by the start of my 5th hour (thanks California labor laws, this is one thing I kinda hate about it)

Crazy, i'm really close to you, but i bet your house being that low is going to be the biggest reason for our difference.

I've paid off my student loans (60k)
Paid off three cars (20-30k range)
Credit History is about 7 years (Lost a lot paying off student loans, and the card we had for 11 years we stopped using for too long and they deactivated it)
We have 3 CC's (One home depot) with a total of 60k Credit limit. We pay it off at the end of each month, so it never gets above 5% usage.

The only thing is my home. It is down to 130k left. I'm guessing that amount of debt will keep it from getting much higher.

Pro tip: The better your credit history is the lower your car insurance will be.

Yep. When I got my car insurance through a broker he got me a way lower rate them I ever could because of my credit. Not like Geiko has an option for us as laypersons to put that info in ourselves.

Wait so I have to go talk to an actual broker instead of my online Geico quote?

Yeah that's how I got my car insurance like 10 years ago when I still had a car(moved, sold it, now I bike everywhere), and the rate they got me was less then half of the quotes I was getting myself

Damn; I thought my Geico insurance was already pretty low but I might need to check this out; thanks for the tip.
