What happened that killed them exactly? (FWIW I am not or was not aware of any Amazon warehouses being in the path of tornadoes or major storms.)

Big ass spinning wind thing went through and killed them dead likely because of debries zipping into them or crushed by the building failing and going big smash.

The tornado that passed through five states clipped the Edwardsville, Illinois warehouse. It collapsed a wall and the roof. Those who died were in their designated shelter-in-place location.

maybe that guy's text message meant that amazon was not letting them leave with the delivery vehicles and they thought it was safer to use their shelter in place location? I don't think amazon had the man chained to the floor

I have no idea how much warning they had to evacuate, I would imagine its more dangerous to be on the road shortly before a tornado comes through than in a structure?
