Oh damn you’re right! I do somewhat remember that conversation. Gonna dive back in to review some cutscenes.

Interviews are popping up with Yoshi, can't find the whole translation of Gamewatch interview, but he talks a little about Reaper, Male Vieras - confirms they will add female Hrothgar in the future too and Endwalker - this expansion will have the most voiced scenes, lots of NPCs will appear as it's a conclusion story and Vrtra will play a key role in the story

And I'm sure it's talked about at other times too

I could actually see that as the next chapter of FFXIV. Would be pretty interesting if at the end of Endwalker, when everyone is celebrating their victory, everyone falls to the ground in pain from the ear shattering noise coming from inside the planet, paired with other strange phenomena such as people going crazy and losing all hope, distorting into beasts and what have you.

Except they have aged a bit and physically grown. Mentioned this to my wife who is a way bigger XIV fan than myself. She showed me a comparison of Alphinaud's height from ARR to now. He's grown, just do a little searching and you'll see it. He's just not peak height yet.

Edit: can't find the comparison but I'll ask the Mrs if she still has it later. They haven't had a big growth spurt obviously but they have grown.

Kind of. Unlike FFXI where every story wrapped up (for the most part) with the end of its expansion FFXIV continued the same story from V1 to now and will conclude in the initial release of Endwalker. After that a completely new story will happen.

Yeah, one of the cutscenes in the latest expansion talk about Elezen being late bloomers and don't usually get their growth spurt until they're in their twenties. The twins are, what? 17 as of the end of Shadowbringers?

Yeah it was Urianger who specifically mentioned him not getting his growth spurt til he was 20 in regards to the Elezen physiology.

I am hoping there is some kind of time skip for 6.1 to age the twins up (and others too) but I’m afraid reskinning the entire overworld based on your MSQ progress might be a task too great.

Would they need to though? Things can be mostly the same for another 3 years

I don't see a 3 year time skip for the expansion to be very plausible, considering they're in the middle of a war. Are they going to ignore the towers for 3 years? Since we're the ones that likely have to deal with them. I suppose they can tie that up in the next half of the MSQ releasing before the expansion.

Looking at the trailer, there does seem to be a slight time skip, but I doubt it'll be 3 years. Urianger mentions the respite being over, Alphinau and Alisae looks a little taller (comparing them with the WoL), and Thancred looks slightly older than he did in Shadowbringers.

Seriously though, what's with Thancred? He seems to age so much faster than the other characters. And how is Urianger younger than Thancred? dude looks the oldest.

I think you're misunderstanding. No one expects a time skip before 6.0 ends. We're talking 6.1 and on
