Patch 5.5: Death Unto Dawn (April 13th 2021)

This Belias CE in the new Bozja area is a pain in the ass lol

Only one that gets me the odd time a few days later is that triangle formation. Otherwise it's always hang center, see which two clocks are slow, read the safe spots from turning AoE (they always point the opposite direction in the end), then head the safe spot (or adjacent tile to slide to safe spot after) that isn't getting charged at.

I still derp like mad on the CE with the Alte-Roite though despite knowing the mechanics now. I do appreciate that they bumped up the mechanics difficulty of these. They're not one-trick ponies like most of the CEs from the first zone.

Everything but the dive bombs/ifrit charges/whatever people wanna call it can be reflected, yeah you'll get a damage up but nothing can hurt you in this fight, even the raid wide aoe can be reflected so there isn't any risk in this fight so long as you're paying attention and you have lost reflect.

So Gabranth is dying but still has control of Dalmasca and apparently has all of the Blades of Gunhildr. Given how Eureka was a big storyline that tied to Sharlyan which we are now about to visit, it’s got me thinking that taking back Dalmasca will be a big focus of the 7.0 storyline, or possibly 6.1 moving forward. Gabranth will probably take in all the Garleans that survive/flee Zenos & Fandaniel. And Lyon is still around, so I think he is still going to end up being our job trainer for Beastmaster as a new limited job in the future.

Finished the raid with 12 last night. The bosses are quite fun, like them a lot more than DR ones. Shame it doesn't give Mettle at the end though, makes it stupid to not do DR for the new relic stage.

Not sure about the first time, but completing it later definitely gave me a ton of mettle (like 3m)

A bit late but is there a trick to getting the Garlean synthetic fabric? In my time farming my rank back to the cap pre 5.55 to the new cap I've only ever seen 1 drop.

Check the market board, I just did that recently at the price on my server was very low (like 10k per piece or something)

At rank 25 the risk/reward of doing Bozja, CLL, or DR instead of Zadnor or Delriada is just too skewed unless you are actively farming relic pieces. 61k mettle loss per death with raise, 300k+ mettle loss if you have to home point. Clearing CLL is 80k mettle and DR is 650k mettle. I imagine they are gonna have to adjust that at some point.

Never tried DR Savage, but maybe now's a good time with farming honors.

Finished my relic for Machinist. I want to make more but that DR step just kills my motivation completely. Maybe I’ll just do one or two a day and space it out for a while, November is 6 months away after all.

Yeah it's what killed my drive to do GBR/DRK/SAM. I hardly touch them and am shite with them so I'm not going to torture myself trying to finish them.

At rank 15 I was getting like 150k mettle per fate (and like 240k for a CE) in Zadnor. How much do you get at rank 25 for each?

I went from rank 15 to 17 in like half an hour without even trying while just checking out Zadnor for the first time lol

Okay, so even if you die 10+ times in Bozja/CLL/Delubrum (and get raised), 15 minutes in Zadnor would top you off again EZPZ

Worth also mentioning there, with the HP from honors, veteran potion (or better/similar) and a little food combined with bubble you get batshit amounts of HP, so except for delubrums "you die anyway" you can live through a -lot- now.

How are people farming honors? I already see some have lv 8 and more, feels like a crazy amount of grind lol.

I got level 5 already. It’s not that hard really. Mettle comes at you quick farming fates and CE. Dalriada run by itself gives 3 million plus.

Basically doing every CE that pops in Zadnor and focusing FATEs in zone 3, preferably with a group killing Garleans to make them spawn quicker. Dalriada with a quick group is sometimes worth the distraction, especially if you're needing relic part drops or the field notes still.

Shame that Southern Front has zero scaling for lv15+. Absolutely useless zone when you're not farming fragments, because the devs in their infinite wisdom decided not to make the new zone share some drops so you have alternative camps. I'm looking at you, CLL fragments.
