So I admit he's fine in his current state but I don't know why but like whatever it was that made Asmon hated them is probably striked the same chords as my reasons. Their face and seemingly arrogance, and maybe the voice, cemented my dislike for them that carries on to this day. As they mellowed out and maybe also because of the shift in voice actors it became better.

I’m catching up on the first hour of Asmongold’s first day and I’m dying laughing how everything he looks at he goes “oh that’s stupid/it sucks” and then 30 seconds later he is wide eyed smiling going “that’s actually badass what the fuck!”

Forgot how poorly voice acted a lot of ARR was (Raubahn and Alphinaud being terrible) and how much of a prick Alphinaud was. I think when I do NG+ ARR and HW before EW comes out, I'll just do japanese subs, lol.

HW and onward did wonders for this.

Yeah, I started ARR with Japanese voices so I had no idea until I made an alt to check revamped ARR, as I switched to English voices sometime in Stormblood I think.

I miss the original Urianger VA from ARR but for the most part they are trash

There were a couple other stand outs - Merlwyb gets a lot of credit and I liked how Midgardsormr sounded like the half dead dragon god he technically is in ARR too.

I don't remember being annoyed with Alphinaud, but Alisaie was pretty bad in ARR.

As for Asmon's streams, it's cool to see him enjoy the game and hilarious to listen to him mispronouncing everything. I just watched some because I'm not that into watching streamers at all but I was curious to see how he reacts during certain portions of the game.
But man, looking at all the people just wasting their time following him around while he streams? Geez, them doodz really have nothing better to do with their time I guess...

He's a celeb who publicly announced and is broadcasting his playthroughs. What did you think would happen? People want a slice of interacting with that fame, even if he is just famous for being another bearded white dude with opinions.

I remember playing WoW back in 2009-ish and hearing about how many celebs were playing WoW, like Vin Diesel. I also remember how notoriously hard it was to find out who their characters were and what guilds they were in, because they absolutely didn't want people knowing that they were who they are, because of shit like this. This isn't new and it isn't surprising in the slightest. Fan is short for fanatic, after all, and even people who hate him are still "fans" because they're bothering to give their time to interact with him.

I don't understand the surprise.
