Still wish it had a better name LOL
Still wish it was a continuation of Matsuno's Ogre Battle franchise, but I'll take what I can get.
Wtf is up with 5th chapter of the saga,7th, 6th all out of order??
Did they do some xenogears shit where they released a later story first? lol
What would a continuation of Ogre Battle even look like, all the games are very different and don't really follow an overarching plot.
Also for which ones to play it depends on what you want. Tactics Ogre is basically is very similar to FFT, while they other games are a very different type of strategy game.
They all do follow an over-arching plot, and a shared world. Just because games like Ogre Battle 64 don't play the same way as a LUCT doesn't mean what happens in one game doesn't account for what happens in another.
I'd go into details, but that'd spoil, although is it really a spoiler for a 30-year-old franchise?
I have spent easily 1000 hours of my life playing Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen. I never did spend much time on LUCT or PoLC though.

Still early so far, but this scratches all the right things for the Tactics Ogre/FFT fan in me.
My chief complaint is no character portraits when someone talks. Voice acting is not great, but far from bad. I just have the feeling at some point theres going to be a 'Craud Has Advanced Forward' moment with the VA that becomes a meme.
Man between Arceus, Elden Ring and Horizon, 3 fucking open world games, it's gonna be tough to find time for this little guy. But I do really wanna play it
lol the very first battle in NG+ is sorta bullshit if you didn't use certain characters. Gunna have to wipe a few times to lvl people up
NG+ already? How long did the game take you to beat?
Took me 38 hours. A couple story battles took me a couple tries and did a few extra mock battles to lvl up people.
good game. i've been playing the shit out of it myself.
Get this team and Matsuno together and we could have the greatest TRPG of all time. No hyperbole. This shit is good, and bodes well for the future of the genre. Big props to all the indie TRPGs over the last few years keeping the torch burning while AAA got their shit together (FE, you get a pass because you've always been putting games out, even if they're waifu simulators these days).
