A Twisted Metal TV show has been announced.

The show is about a motor-mouthed outsider who is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown named who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck, whom fans of the game will know as Sweet Tooth.

I have no background with the games so I can't speak to that aspect of it, but the first episode wasn't the dogshit I expected. Mackie sells the goofy "we would've cast Will Smith in this back in the day" kind of role a lot better than a serious leading man.

It's not gonna win any awards, but I'm a few episodes in and it's good dumb fun. Unlike basically everything else where he's in a leading role, Mackie isn't awful here. Just having him play "90s Will Smith at home" is maybe the secret sauce to not having him drag down a show with his wooden acting.

This is back and I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would and not really sure what else I can say about it without it being a major spoiler. Looks like they're releasing 3 episodes a week for the duration.
