Ya I didn't really mind the shorter pokedex. It actually meant someone like me was able to complete it for once :D

Same, this has been the first time since gen 2 that I completed my pokedex. I was never the person to go through the process of transferring older pokemon to the latest generation, so I get those people being mad (although I question how many people actually did this..) and the people whose favorite pokemon weren't available, but I'll happily take those tradeoffs in the name of accessibility, especially in regards to legendary pokemon.

And while I know pretty much no one else cares about the competitive standpoint, having everything available in game made that side so much more accessible. I think there was maybe a six month period where the swords trio was useable but not catchable, but beyond that, there was never a point I felt I've been at a disadvantage because I didn't keep up the process of transferring something from one gen to the next over the last ten-plus years.

Pretty sure that’s only referring to the cutscene stuff since that’s the only time it appears.
When your trailer makes the gameplay look boring… that’s probably a red flag. Every Pokémon encounter was just Pokémon attacks, player rolls.

A concern is this will get review bombed citing the new ideas/mechanics as boring/slow/uninspired, when in truth the deviations it's making from the Gen1-8 "beat gyms, crush bad team, and become champ" formula are the only thing this game really has going for it. Then gen 9 will roll around next xmas with none of the series' horrible problems actually addressed.
