alright i learned teleport and have discovered the last couple battles that i can just teleport red prince on top of an enemy right before it’s his turn for max hilarity, now we’re cooking

Elden Ring is maximalist Soulsborne, you know exactly what you're getting it's just more of it than ever before in a massive open world full of more secrets than you'll ever find. still kinda prefer Bloodborne for the vibe but it's the game From Soft spent 15 years building towards.

BG3 is fundamentally a narratively driven game. your companions, their arcs, a hundred quests with a thousand NPCs, and the overarching plot are what move ol girl. tho, the combat is the best distillation of 5th Ed rules in vidya and very XCOMy cunning tactical calculation take the wheel.

very different games, both mastapieces into which it's a privilege to drop 100 hours. BG3 edges it for me but i am a storyteller who loves story tellin.

yeah two of the best blind first playthroughs of any games ive ever played, especially considering i never touched a souls game before elden ring or a tabletop rpg-type combat game before bg3

but i would go the other way, the boss fights/cutscenes in elden ring are pure cinema and sometimes bg3 can feel like it drags at times, especially if you aren’t used to the combat mechanics which I was not

but you can’t go wrong either way, 10/10 either way

Bg3 can feel like a drag but once you get rolling it's great. Elden ring was a blast from hour 1 for me, but it's a completely different game and vibe
