I don't carry amps around anymore. Haven't since 3.5mm (thankfully) stopped being a thing. I use pixel buds which are 75% deterrent and 25% music. I could look for a very good pair of USB headphones, but I spend more time in my car than I do walking.

I think I'm close to halfway through 16 and unless it really falls off I'm gonna say this one is up near the top. With the Pixel Remasters making the classic ones so playable this pretty firmly cements 13 at the bottom for me and honestly? 15 in the 15th spot.

16 has a fantastic character building, setting, and story. It gets overhated because lots of people disliked the battle system. Same thing happens for the VII:R line -- lots of people still want nothing but turn base battle.

The marketing for 16 was very upfront about what kind of game it would be, anybody surprised was either going in completely blind by choice or was not being a diligent consumer
