Realizing I can get milk delivered by Amazon for cheaper than buying at the cheapest grocery store around here is a revelation. Free delivery (orders $25+), no tip expectation, $3.13 for a gallon of 2% (we go through about 5 gallons a week with these kids, and that's with me drinking none)

The first time I got sent milk that was days from and had actually expired, I stopped putting that on my order.
I'll grab that shit from a nearby convenience store if I can personally eye a date that's weeks away.

The date on products is not when it actually goes bad it's the "sell by" date. With milk as long as you keep it in the refrigerator at the usual 36F it can last up to a week after the sell by date.

The 5 gallons I had delivered yesterday are sell by 5/31 so I'm not worried about that. I doubt an operation the size of Amazon is going to be scraping the bottom of the milk barrel.

Costs of the war putting immense pressure on ranchers plus tariffs on foreign beef. Could lower the tariffs, but the domestic lobby already under pressure due to war related rising production cost. Plus Trump doesn't want to TACO again.
