Every Memorial Day weekend I see the same stupid arguments about how it’s insensitive to say HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY because it’s supposed to be a solemn day to remember the fallen. Ok, fair. But nobody seems to give a shit when companies exploit the holiday to make money. I guess all the big MEMORIAL DAY SALE events are ok because capitalism? Saving $500 on a new mattress or a flat screen TV or 0% financing for six months at Jim Bob’s Dodge Chrysler Jeep is apparently perfectly acceptable though.

Getting the keys to my new apartment in Oakland and apparently the one person who works in the leasing office on Saturdays didn't come into work.
Not a great first impression, they're sending someone from like half an hour away to give me my keys.

Eventually got in and moved my stuff for today.
Thankfully the lumpia restaurant across the street from my new place is as awesome as I heard. Though I can already tell I'm gonna need to workout more having this place so close.
