thinkin about that titan sub implosion again
trying to find that video of the expert that was released only like a day after the initial report of the sub missing and he ended it by saying something along the lines of “sorry to tell you folks but those guys are super dead”
i tried searching for “implosion” on the forum but it’s just people hurting my feelings about the 2025 and 2023 eagles seasons, not helpful and fuck you
anyway, unrelated

Disney World is updating the Carousel of Progress. It previously showed scenes of life advancing from the turn of the 20th century to today. But now will feature scenes beginning with the Apollo Moon landing in 1969, then 1985, then NYE 1999, and ending with a scene far off in the distant future showcasing the possibilities that await.
So of course my degenerate brain already imagined scenes like this
Grandma in 1969: “Can you believe they are letting those colored kids go to school with whites?!”
Grandma in 1999: “Can you believe they are letting those queers get married?!”
Grandma in 20XX: “Can you believe they are letting those clankers vote in our elections?!”
as a carousel of progress enjoyer the times I’ve been to Disney (air conditioning), are they replacing the existing scenes with these? please no
Yes
The refresh is being done to reflect the times that people living today may have grown up in and experienced themselves. Probably not a lot of folks from 1910 and 1927 going to Disney World these days.
I will bet you there's going to be a spot in there for AI now.

We also need to collectively agree to a new term for Artificial intelligence since it, you know, isn't.

I sincerely doubt they will make any of it socially charged. Even if Disney resists conservative bullshit they want people to enjoy going to the park not leaving with pitchforks.
No of course they won’t touch social issues, I was joking
The carousel of progress has always been focused more on showcasing evolving technology in the home and how it impacts our lives. For a long, long time it was sponsored by GE and was more or less a vehicle for advertising their home appliances.
Man has a dream, after all.
Hired a yard crew yesterday to trim+blow at my rental house weekly, I don't have enough time now to get down there often enough to do it myself like I have been the past 7 years.
And I realized that I built a Substack from scratch in 6 months that now earns more than my million dollar rental house.
Pretty crazy.
