1. Got a new boss. Things were great in the fall. Like we worked so well together.
2. Starting second semester she went crazy and was giving me such a hard time about stuff. But, not even just work stuff. She would insult my voice and the way I move my hands type of things. Made me spiral pretty badly tbh because how can I change stuff like that and why? It made my work suffer, but I was working non stop. Like no lunches, no pee breaks, nothing. Was making my home life suffer, too. I didn't really understand what was happening. I tried to talk to her about it, and she basically told me maybe being an AP is not for me.
3. In April they told me I could resign in lieu of nonrenewal. I actually was ok with it. It's for a stupid reason so I won't expand on that.
4. After they told me and until my last day, my boss suddenly became my superfan. I don't understand it. Almost everyday she was saying things like, "How will I do this without you?" and "You better not be applying to teaching jobs, you are a great admin. You should apply to principal jobs even" and "There's something majorly wrong with this school" and such.
5. I think, I THINK, that the let go move was the superintendent. I have long assumed she didn't like me. Why? Because I wouldn't rat out my last boss to her and talk about him behind his back AND because I didn't want to go out drinking with her after work. (She posts constant instagram videos of her getting trashed with those in the district office.) My only logical explanation is that back in January she put pressure on my boss to pressure me so they could justify letting me go.
6. I got an AP job at a new school in about three weeks.
7. After school was out, the superintendent let go both the assistant principal and principal on the HS side. Huge shit stain move btw. We aren't unioned, but etiquette is to still do it around April/May so people have time to get a new job. So I got lucky there.
8. Ran into a coworker yesterday who lives nearby. He said superintendent was put on administrative leave for her shenanigans both with what she did with us, but also apparently she had been running up thousands of dollars on the school card for alcohol and dinners and such.
9. Started new job this week. It's a long-established independent study school. I only have to go into work 4 days a way. Yesterday the superintendent said that once we get going, we can reduce that to 3 days a week. Other two days is working from home.
Ultimately, I lucked out. Everything in life happens for a reason lol.
