At least 3k a month I'd assume
I'm a few more years away from being retirement eligible, and even though I plan to still work, you can be a lot less picky when you've got that guaranteed.

Lot more picky?
If you played it right you could definitely fully retire after 20 years in the military.
I probably can/could but I'd go crazy with nothing to do
Hobbies man. You clearly have a gaming hobby, you can fill your time with other hobbies as well.
i live mostly off passive income at this stage of my life and desperately wish there was more time in the day for hobbies. between everything to watch + game + read, languages to learn travel to do piano to practice, muay thai and bjj to train, time taken up with lady friend, even without a 9-5 feel i never have enough time to do everything i want in life.
i work like a dog and barely keep my head above water, so, check that shit out
Yessir. i prolly will find a job at some point because i dont wanna get bored. prolly go work at costco and use my employee discount for top tier glizzy consumption
Hobbies people, hobbies. You don't need work to not be bored

i laffed, out loud
the pension is taxed, sadly
nah UC system finally yeeted me and wouldn't let me earn any more master's. my last grandparent passed which led to me getting access to a rent-free property in my family's trust so long as i remain in Santa Barbara, which when coupled with what i have saved lets me live off riskless investment for the nonce.
it ain't quite enough to retire forever but i can live in decent comfort for the next what, 15ish years? question is whether to return to the work force for a decade or so to get the retirement fund set up proper or go a riskier investment path which could see me a) destitute, or b) never having to work again.
