So interesting story behind that character—Tori. NBC filmed all the episodes of the final season and then decided they wanted to double the episode count. This meant they had to re-sign the entire cast to new contracts. Elizabeth Berkeley and Tiffani Amber Thiesen declined to return, so they had to cast a new female lead/love interest for Zack and thus the character of Tori was born. If you watch the final season in order you will notice that Kelly and Jessie disappear halfway through the season when Tori arrives and in the series finale when they all graduate, Kelly and Jessie return, but Tori is gone.
