I dont care for boxing, but every time I see Mayweather fight (all of like 2 or 3 lol), all he's doing is hanging on the ropes blocking punches.

He's got solid defense, takes advantage of rope a dope and incredible precision, he's also good at getting points. He's ultra-boring to watch and would get smothered by a certain class of fighters. He picked his pro opponents judiciously and only fought Manny after Manny was out of his prime. He also never unified belts to be undisputed, so he can eat shit on that one too.

Floyd is a woman-beating piece of shit but his defense is predicated on his version of the Philly Shell, not rope a dope, and "solid" defense is fuckin ridiculous he's one of the best defensive fighters of all time. he also became a point fighter because he kept breaking his hands and kept going up in weight class, before that he was knocking out the Hattons and Corraleses of the world.

that said, he did cherrypick opponents, worst mark against him. some great fights we never saw because Floyd valued that 0 so much. but he also took his ass from super feather to light middle and fought great champions all along the way. at worst the second best boxer of the century, and he did beat the only guy who has an argument over him.

So funny story. I don't know much about Hagler, but I read it on here and it was brought up in our dept meeting because my boss asked a teacher if they were related. I said, "Aren't they spelled differently?" and our teacher said nope, he wasn't related but was always excited because they shared the same spelling.

And that's when I learned none of y'all know how to spell his name as I think every person on bg has said Haggler. (Understandable, btw, since haggler is a real word.)
