It’s basically a shitty reskinned DC version of taxi driver. There was straight up nothing interesting in that movie outside of Joaquin.

If it was any other actor, I probably would have hated it. The whole problem with a Joker origin story is that even DC hasn't done a full fledged origin. They've done various put it together yourself type stuff like in Killing Joke, as well as Red Hood (I think that's the name).

There was a recent Batman story, I think in a Christmas special, which would make the Killing Joke origin canon to some degree, but it still never releases Joker's real name (and also makes a lot of previous stuff Batman has done flat out stupid if true).
