i had only student loans up until age 28 before i tried to get a car loan and got denied due to insufficient credit history and no revolving credit history

i then got a few credit cards and now have excellent credit but i'm still slightly dinged with the "oldest account was opened too recently" under revolving credit. i probably shouldn't sweat it too much with a score around 780 and given the banks gave us a loan we can barely afford. living the dream

but yeh, to minmax my score, i should've got credit cards right at 18
