I've been keeping quiet about this but I think it's finally time to fess up to this fail. It's a nasty one.

I went in for a liver ultrasound (they were suspecting non-alcoholic fatty liver) and..

..They found early stage kidney cancer. Mind, I don't smoke unless I step in a fire, so it's prolly all genetics since cancer runs in the family. Prolly going to have surgery to deal with it in the next 2 weeks. Please pray for me guys if you're so inclined to. I just call this a fail since this was a pretty rotten suprise when they weren't looking for it.

For what it's worth, kidney cancer is probably one of the better ones to get since it's possible for them to just remove the bad spots and it heals back up over time. My mom had a softball-sized growth in one of hers and there able to get it out and save the kidney, and far as we can tell, remission hasn't happened over the regular check ups since. All I can really say otherwise is to just trust your docs. It can sound scary, but just remember they're doing this all the time.

Cancer sucks. I have dealt with it in my family as well as my wifes family. Honestly my biggest health fear is cancer. I am sorry to hear you are dealing with that.

In a similarly petty fwp (to synistar), my startup has decided that my time is so valuable that they can't have me doing just any project, so for the last four months I have been implementing metrics to try and measure what I should be spending my time on. Every time we get close to pulling the trigger, someone comes in and reprioritizes things so we are back to metrics again. I could have qualitatively solved more than half of the problems they had me measure if they had just left me TF alone and not insisted on quantification.

Luckily if I get it done in the next few weeks I should be okay and able to attend.

Oh and with the F word thing; I'll say this. I actually agree with "F-U cancer" so if anyone wants to out and say that word (instead of me dancing around it like that) and the mods are not going to be on your butt, go right ahead. I actually agree with that.

They've had the cops called on them twice and they "promise" they'll be good, then keep escalating when the officers leave. Currently right outside this family's door they're playing music at top volume and have a drum set set against the wall and are just banging them randomly. One of the guys said that he'll kill them if the cops are called again. Never a dull moment around here.
