I don't disagree, and we're pretty much in felony territory with everything that went on. I'd certainly like to get as much as possible, but that won't inevitably be up to me. Apparently they went to the landlord in the middle of the night to get a key and barged in on him around 2am. They were lucky he was distracted playing games, because he is a gun owner and probably would've blasted them if he heard them basically breaking in. Probably wouldn't have spared my truck, but as bad ideas go, this crew Darwin'ing themselves would've been A-OK with me.

They didn't tell us over the phone earlier, which probably isn't the best news. All I know is they were looking into the hotel they were supposedly staying at. We're going to the department tomorrow to cover paperwork and things. Monday will be the courthouse for restraining orders and such. These are basically gutter trash people, so going on the run isn't really an option for them financially as they'll flock back to VA or out themselves on social media because she's dumb like that. One of the guys involved violated his parole by being out of state and with the knife used, so whether or not this escalates simply beyond warrants to extradition, we'll see.

Capital One won't increase my card because I never approach the limit on it. All my other cards increase me when I request it annually. But there's no incentive for me to use the Capital One card more since the rewards suck.

They probably ran a hard pull on his credit which can ding you, but they can't just call Equifax and say, hey lower this noobs credit score 50 points for us.

I keep my credit frozen with all three bureaus, and only unfreeze (thaw) it if I'm doing something like applying for a loan. No hard pulls unless I allow it, and some protection against identity theft since nobody else can apply under my name/social while it's frozen.

Call them and make it clear that you are filing a complaint for an unauthorized credit pull, which is an FCRA violation and request that they contact the bureaus to remove it. I know enough about institution to assure you that their complaints/compliance (who are very likely to be alerted if you use the regulation terms during a call) teams do not fuck around with this.

If you want to be extra spicy, submit a complaint through one or all of: the FRB, FDIC, and CFPB, which are all regulatory agencies for TFC. The regulators will contact the bank directly on status of your complaint.
