So found out our 7 month old boy has a sesame allergy. And although he's been fine with peanuts the past month and a half, he's now showing reactions to them too.

Oh and egg.

Yeah. The egg one is something that is very common to outgrow. The sesame it's only around 20% chance to outgrow.

He's had eczema pretty much since birth and most of the reactions are just some hives and redness, so no full anaphylaxis.

Is it just me or do food allergies seem to be MUCH more common now ?

I just don't remember except for maybe 3 people my entire school time from 1984 to 1996 having anything but a mild milk allergy.
I'm just curious from a science standpoint.

I've had the most insufferable allergies the past week. Allergist has me going in for bloodwork saturday morning to test what I'm allergic for so I can come in for a physical before starting up the shot regiment.

Already using OTC Eye Drops and Flonaze in an attempt to get some relief. Flonaze will take a couple of weeks to build up, but the drops seem to be helping a bit for short term.

Work announced a new uniform + policy set to take effect January 1st. Not the worst, blue polo plus black dress pants, but the new work shirt has to be purchased out-of-pocket (paycheck deductible). Also, with winter coming, they aren't providing long sleeve shirts either. Those too must be purchased from the company.

This has been me since the beginning of the month ... had covid and ever since a constant funny nose / sneezing almost daily. It's getting old going throw kleenex

If you keep receipts they can be tax deductible. I did that for years when I worked at att and they made us buy sweaters and rain gear from them

Hurricane cost me a hundo. Closed on wed (One of my 2 usual days) so -60 on the donation but also $40 bonus for 8 donations in the month. Today was 7, woulda been 8 if they weren't closed wednesday; that put me behind enough frmo being good till december to being good till november; so just gonna have to take the first thing I can find, which tldr back to fast food for min wage had an offer just didn't take it was holding out for better; don't have much choice now

You know I literally biked 25,000 miles for my degree doing a year of it living in an abandoned house with no utilities and studying under street lamps, eating 29 dollars a month of uncooked ramen as my only food source, right? lol; it ain't due to lack of effort

because bills don't wait. I can't just go "well i'll just wait till something i deserve" otherwise i go homeless again

and no i've applied to every decent job in my area since i graduated can't force places to hire me

Hell while i was at dunkin, for 8.75/hr Aldi (grocery store hired at 13/hr) over those 2 years, I applied for every open position for every location within biking distance(stocking, bagging, cashier, deli, produce, etc.), didn't even get a call back, got this as a response for over 125 applications over a 2 year period?



It's not "settling" it's surviving. can't force places to hire me
