did you sweep the legs? i hear that's the classy way to drop a bitch
They tried to be. Not our first song and dance with cops. All they had was her word. My uncle said "I don't answer questions" they didn't have a warrant, so I wouldn't even go to the door. They left empty handed. Wasn't gonna try to have a my story vs hers, was just ya'll don't have anything to investigate here, carry on.
It's not "we gotta get our story straight" it is "there is no story". and I had to take it there, I'm trying to demonstrate she needs to leave and if this is the type of shit my uncle needs to see to kick her out (she pays no rent; she threw a knife at me last month, etc.) then we escalating when she gets drunk and attacks people (which is what happened while I can't say shit about my drinking, I can at least hold mine, she gets drunk then it's her way or the high way and if not she will attack)
So a few months ago I found out my dog had a tumor, turned out it was lung cancer, and spent the last few months doing everything I could for him but we ultimately had to put him down yesterday. We went to the dog park almost every day, and through this time I got to slowly watch as he went from normal play with other dogs, to being unable to keep up well, to not even bothering to run after anything most of the time. He still WANTED to do these things, as yesterday morning before we put him down my GF and I took him for a walk and he still wanted to fight a Rottweiler being walked, and he also wanted to chase a squirrel. He still had so much life left in him, but the cancer was making it so he could hardly breathe. The last few days was almost 100% panting at all times, he could barely lay down without ending up in a coughing/hacking fit, and despite some signs he still loved us, there was no way to deny he was in a lot of pain.
He was my first pet, and I'm never going to have a biological child, so this is the closest I'm ever getting to having one. And it hurts so much. He was such a huge part of my life the last 9 years, and it really REALLY hurts seeing his life cut short by cancer when he had so much more life left in him. I've got a number of pictures and videos, but this is the one I'll share, it's him the night before we ended it, he got to rest for just a little on the sofa with me:

a good boy, never gets easier but you done right by him. flights of angels sing him to his rest
He gets to run up and down the rainbow bridge while he waits for his familyRIP

Today was supposed to be an awesome travel day..oh how wrong I would be.
Left SFO for Charlotte at 525am , landed at 115pm no issues. Boarded connection, same plane I came in on from SFO , we are ready to leave until they say there is damage on the tail and maintenance needs to determine if we can actually fly. Why did you wait until now ?
Nope can't fly so deplane us and find a new one. Two terminals over , so as a cattle herd we hustle over. Board new plane..and..Orlando is at a full ground stop now due to severe storms so we deplane..AGAIN.
It's now about 3pm.
We don't leave Charlotte until almost 645pm , arrive in Orlando finally yay , relief.
Nope we are stuck on tarmac for another 35 minutes because plane at our assigned gate has a brake issue and can't move.
At this point I'm like..ARE..YOU..KIDDING..ME.
The collective frustration on board was unlike anything I've ever seen.
Finally get off the plane at almost 9pm.
Grab bags and shuttle to rental car took an hour to get..so get into my room at 1130pm EST.
Today was the biggest clusterfuck I've ever had. Thank god for alcohol.

Fucking Amtrak has a disabled train or something blocking access to Union Station and it’s ended up canceling an assload of the afternoon VRE schedule today.
So now I gotta hop on the metro to L’Enfant Plaza to catch a much later train.
Been sick last two days of my birthday trip and have to fly out tomorrow. This is gonna suck ugh.

So, I'm ready to burn my employer to the ground.
Wife and I had a baby around 8 weeks ago. I had called about taking a leave at that time and was informed that because my wife and I work for the same organization, we would have to split 12 weeks. Now, my wife and I do work for the same organization, but we are employed by 2 different entities. I work for the medical group of providers. She works for the hospital group. We get paid out by different entities. Different management structure. Didn't matter. Had to share leave. I decided that fucking my wife over would not be beneficial and requested a month of vacation from our office manager. It's not a typical request, but I told him the truth. Told him our leave policy and that I'm taking off for a month, regardless, the question is how much he wanted to make my wife pay for it. He approved the vacation.
So, we have the baby, I'm off work. I log into our health insurance website and add a dependent. Done and done. Don't give it a second thought. Bills come in, they show pending insurance payment. Easy enough.
40 days after his birth, I get a call from our billing department saying they can't bill out insurance. After multiple phone calls, it's brought to my attention that I'm supposed to enroll him in insurance through our benefits administrative partner and not through our health insurer. You only have 30 days to enroll a new dependent for benefits. I explain the situation, lady spends 30 minutes on the phone assuring me that it'll be ok. She can't open a window for enrollment over the phone, but she's escalating it and I should get a call in 3-5 days and I would just need his social and birth certificate. Easy enough. Crisis averted.
10 days goes by before I get a call. A different lady is on the line and being a fucking cunt. "why would you do it that way"? "We had instructions in your leave paperwork". "You have 4 other kids on the policy, how could you not know?!?". That question pissed me off.
I explained that my next youngest child is 9 years old and he would've been added before we even moved to this insurance system. Explained I didn't get leave paperwork because I didn't take a leave due to our abysmal parental leave policy. That if my wife got the paperwork, she probably just asked if I had taken care of the insurance stuff and I would've replied that I have. It was a 5 minute phone call, asking the same questions I had already answered, but much more terse. She, again, told me someone would review this information and decide on if they wanted to insure the child.
Email comes 20 minutes later. Denied.
I request an in-person meeting with an HR director. 4 days later, they just email me again with a denial and a restatement of the information I gave them. They do not think this warrants enrolling him.
He has $6,000 in medical bills from his birth.
I have been working on a response, which will probably include the CEO. I wrap the email up with "I am now in the unenviable position of trying to decide my future with an organization that my wife and I have called home for nearly 20 years, because the last 60 days have felt like anything but.".
I make this company $6,000 in less than a week. Good fucking luck finding a psych provider wanting to work in an office as opposed to telehealth and that picks up shifts at the bedside. Fuck y'all. If it doesn't get fixed, the social media fallout should be fun. They are very cognizant of their social media tags and a discussion of how they treat their employees that are new parents should drive a lot of engagement. I would expect to be let go. Oh well. So sad.
Damn, that situation sucks and I hope it works out for you. And do post the conclusion! I love some work tea

If they'd had told me right out of the gate "hey, it's an IRS issue, you messed up, we can't do anything", I would have accepted that. Instead, they told me they could review the issues and an HR manager gets to decide the fate of the enrollment. They decided "nah"...that's what gets me. I spoke with other colleagues who had similar issues with enrollment for various reasons. All went through the same process and got approved after numerous emails. I requested an in-person meeting because I wanted them to sit across a desk, look me in the eyes, and tell me that my 2 months old will not be insured. They couldn't even do that. Just faceless emails, days apart.
Next step after the email is to call billing and tell them the situation and see what they say. I'll happily pay whatever my part would have been with insurance. If not, they can write that shit off because I'm not paying it. It feels so fucking gross that the company that employs me is the company making decisions on my insurance is also the company billing me for medical services requiring insurance. It's everything wrong with the employer-tied American healthcare system.
You have FIVE kids??

only one with the second wife though, so perhaps more are yet to come
seriously though this shit is some uber nonsense Tyche. hope they find reason soon and enroll and cover your newborn
Just be glad it's only 6k, 2 of my 3 cost 75k+ to be born![]()
What does that even mean?
We paid $800 cause of the deductible and the whole cesarean is paid for. I'm coasting to this due date with no stress, the thing is paid off already. Idgi.
