You're pretty much SOL in terms of legal support until they actually do something physically damning, and depending on the extremity of it, that might be too late.

Realistically, the only thing you can do is change your number and make sure it only gets to people you want it to. And even that's not a guarantee if someone gives it out.

Couldn’t find my leftie scissors while working on my costume for Halloween. Scissors I could find were too dull, so I figured I’d just order some more.

Some little middle schooler stole the package today. Husband had ordered a screen protector for my mom’s new iPad and that was taken, too.

Truck full on recorded it and we have a face, but not much we can do without pressing charges, and I don’t think that’s worth it.


I have a guess on what school the kiddo goes to so having husband send them the video tomorrow, but I doubt they’ll bother as it wasn’t during school hours.

I have resorted to using amazon lockers for my orders now because that 1 porch pirate left me a bit sour. At least Amazon refunded me quickly.

Turns out my daughter’s gs leader knows the mom too, and is reaching out to her.

I can’t decide how far we want to take it. Like the kid needs consequences, but cops shouldn’t be it.

Why not get the police involved? It's THEFT.
You can sugar coat this all you want , but in the end it's still theft and should be at minimum reported to them for multiple reasons. I doubt you will be the last victim of it , whether by this individual or someone else thinking it's okay since they "got away with it".

Don't involve the cops. You don't want a kid to be pulled into the system over an $80 package of stuff that he probably threw away immediately because it wasn't fun. Make Amazon pay for it and make sure the parents know.

Eww, hate porch pirates. I get deliveries like, a lot and we live in teh boonies so I don't have to deal with it (yet) but I feel for ya.

Makes me wonder if that mom didn't want to parent but to prevent more trouble, see if you can get a package alarm or package delivery box: Check this for reviews.

There used to be a guy that did sell a boobytrap for a box that fired off blanks (talk about scaring them) but seems their site is down now. Just remember if you decide to do a booby-trapped package as revenge; KEEP IT HARMLESS. The law is if they get hurt you're liable, so noise is perfectly reasonable. And yes, look into Amazon Lockers.

If it's Amazon you can ask them to leave in a place people are less likely to see it. You can say, "Hide it behind that big flower pot with the fake red flowers next to my house!" and they will do it heh.

Update: Mom won’t respond. Kid showed up at our house when my husband was home and I was at work. Kid offered $30 but my husband rejected it and said we want our stuff. Kid said he threw it in the neighbor’s trash, which ticked off my hubby more.

We did end up pressing charges. I feel bad, but in perspective, if the kid had done it tomorrow instead of yesterday he would have walked off with a steamdeck. So while it was $80, that was pure luck.

Some of his teachers ratted him out to me and apparently the kids a nightmare at school. Either this will scare him straight or just move him along down the path he is already going in.

I feel very guilty, but I get it.

bad timing for beating a game i just beat sleeping dogs 2 but like a dragon gaiden comes out on the 8th of novemember what can i play that i can beat between now and then i don't want to start something that i know i'd like and then end up dropping it (yakuza is a top 3 franchise for me)
