if you're comparing him to dudes from 20 years ago, sure. if you're comparing him to his contemporaries he really doesn't.

ben, privs, rodgers, peyton, bardy, brees, ryan, and stafford will all have more yards and touchdowns to eli when all is said and done. which means the only guys of his era that eli will have better stats than are palmer, romo, flacco, dalton, fitzmagic, and alex smith... congrats.

it makes him statistically the 9th best qb of his era out of 15 potential candidates... there's only been 26 qbs put in the hof over the last 80 years, mean only 4 from this era should get in when in reality it's going to be more like 5 not including eli

tbh it's hard to definitively say romo has better stats. when i was looking it up i was surprised to learn that eli had more yards per game than romo did. tony always seemed like he hucking it all over the yard. his td%/int% and such was obviously better tho 'cause eli's was garbage

Romo's yards per game are super diluted by the 29 early games he appeared in but didn't start (and often threw 0 passes)

Romo had 269 yards per start, Eli had 244.

Romo's yards per attempt, per completion, per start, completion%, TD%, INT%, winning% are all significantly better than Eli's.

Which is why Romo is 9th all time in career passer rating (better than Peyton, Rivers, Young, Ryan or Roethlisberger) while Eli is tied for 50th in his career (with Joe Flacco).
