Im gonna be super biased here, because i grew up watching the 90's show, and collected the action figures as a kid, so take that in mind when you hear me say this: This game is fucking GOTY material. Fuck. They captured the spirit of the 90's beat em ups while adding a bit of extra depth. I've been playing and grinning like an idiot for the past hour. The combat, the collectables, the callbacks, references and obscure characters popping up. Shit is a nostalgia playground. Also, Raph with a shoryuken is something i didn't know i needed.
Yeah it's really sick, the combat feels like a true evolution of the Turtles in Time combat, where a lot of it is the same you have more options including a dodge. This means enemies and especially bosses will be much more aggressive against you and won't get stun locked all the time. The way super's work in this game feels much better compared to old turtles games.
So like, if any of you all are into comics and haven't yet read the IDW collection turtles books....you are missing out.
Also - super excited to play this tonight for date night with the wife.
Just finished the first level and my god combat this game is great. Totally worth the wait.
EDIT: Finished my first go of Story mode. Other than I thought the 2nd half of the final stage was disappointing everything else was great. This is nostalgia done right.
I basically knew nothing about this game other than it was a tmnt brawler.
Like two levels in I feel alllllll the nostalga. This game is exactly what it set out to be.
did a quick arcade play through last night, only got to stage 3 before being out of lives, didn't continue as I needed to get back to work on Bravely Default 2, but yes, this is nostalgia done right.
Well done game, much nostalgia. Can't wait to coop this with the locals soon

Went over to my friend’s house today, bought the game on switch, we 4 player co-op’d it, best the game, had tons of fun, we even ate pizza for dinner while playing.
Probably one and done for most people now but an update with quite a lot of nice QOLs dropped earlier this week.
Super Shredder actually feels like a threat now. Beside him using that grab attack more often instead off dashing around that ring of fire attack he uses goes off in quicker bursts making it more annoying to jump over.New Features

Improvements
- Gameplay
- Taunt now only fills up the first Ninja Power bar.
- We no longer clear fully accumulated Ninja Power bars when KO on Chill difficulty.
- Doing a throw now grants the player invulnerability.
- Added more feedback in the HUD when trying to do a Super Attack without enough Ninja Power.
- Many small animation tweaks were made to all bosses, often to make attacks easier to read.
- Fixed Dirtbag’s dig holes collision detection that was too wide and deep.
- Reduced the number of enemies spawned in Zorax’s stampede and the frequency of stampedes. Zorax also has a bit less health when facing multiple players.
- Rat King now does Pied Piper less frequently.
- Improved the Super Shredder fight in many small ways for a smoother pacing and tweaked some damage values. His grab is now used more frequently and is more efficient, though. Bummer dude!
- Improved Statue of Tyranny pacing and tweaked some damage values.
- Mother Mouser has a new bite animation to differentiate the charge bite from the idle bite, to give players time to react.
- Mouser Model 3 and Mother Mouser are now acting a bit faster.
- Radical Mode damage multiplier is now applied to all throws, Super Dive Attack, and charged Heavy Swing.
- Fixed players sometimes falling outside of the screen repeatedly when respawning, at specific locations.
- Online
- Added a Refresh button to the lobby search list.
- We improved the way the Arcade score is calculated: we now record each player individually, even if they leave the game.
- Localization
- Corrected or improved a few strings in Spanish, French and German.
- Menus
- The game will remember if How To Play was seen before, separately in Story and Arcade modes as they differ.
- Improved the prompt to reset your story and character progress.
- Pause menu in Arcade mode now shows the total play time.
- Steam
- Steam Input: improved support for PlayStation 5 controllers.
EDIT: Scratch this post. I wasnt nuts but I think my son changed the controls by accident, I found a way to swap it back.
How I loved this game as a kid. Now I'm feeling very nostalgic.
I didn't feel that much fun while playing it. Not because it wasn't good, because the time is not like those good old days, having friends on the side, with coke and snacks, on the holidays and after school.
That time was great. I miss those days. Now it's work all day and sleep at night. Meet them for a short period and then again home.
