I feel like this is going to impact Democrats much more because that is the party with the most moderates both in base and elected officials. It seems like the R's have been casting their moderate base off willingly and pushing more and more extreme and it is working for them.

Two of the three major candidates in the Wisconsin Senate democratic primary (Alex Lasry and Sarah Godlewski) have now dropped out and endorsed the favorite, sitting Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes. The primary is August 9th but the decks are now cleared, Barnes has the party united for what will be a close race to unseat Ron Johnson.

Trump pretty much owns the republican party at this point so yes I think it will divide the democrats more. I think the issue here is that by all accounts the Democratic party is already largely moderate and central and the current Republican party is getting so extreme it is pulling everything to the right.

So read about the amendment Republicans want for the Burn Pit bill. As structured in the first passed Senate Bill & House version - funding would be classified as mandatory akin to Social Security and Medicare. Repubs want the funding to come through appropriations so they don't give Dems funding wiggle room during normal annual budgets. Which means the Burn Pit disability funds would be a 3rd rail for any future budget fights when squeezing budgets through reconciliation rules.

Schumer to bring it up the Motion to Reconsider on Monday. Whether or not the amendment(s) get heard is another story.

It won't get that amendment. It's the 9/11 health bill amendment and Republicans already tried to play that card and it failed miserably. Republicans know they aren't winning the narritive by choosing fiscal policy over troops.
