technically spicy is saying "do it in reconciliation, but ignore the parlimentarian's objection to insulin price setting outside medicare" so it's not really a filibuster issue exactly
This is exactly what I said, yes.
Does anyone here actually object to this tried and tested method of evading the filibuster for life saving medicine that is deeply price gouged being capped? Besides Biden? Those who voted for the Dems sure would appreciate it, I bet. Then again, someone will tell them to vote harder so they can get it this time for suresies.
There was discussion of using this as an option back during the whole $15 minimum wage reconciliation debacle, but I feel that would have been a very poor usage of it. This time the matter was much more important. One which certainly shouldn't have been kicked down the road, yet again, for political leverage in an election. I don't think it be a conspiracy to say that doing such was seen as a politically advantageous win-win. As I insinuated though, it is unlikely that Biden would allow Kamala to do such as he has some distorted form of honor. Which he will sacrifice others on for his veneration over the idea of bipartisanship.
He just signed the largest climate bill in US history with 0 Republican votes
Pretty sure ignoring the parliamentarian gets the entire bill tossed out by SCOTUS on procedure, so no it's not a tried and tested method to avoid the filibuster.
Guys guys
Let me break it down for you, translate from Spicyese as it were.
That thing which is good is actually bad.
