Politicians leveraging their positions in the market? Wow you stumbled into something huge. Maybe the SEC will stamp out the bad actors HAHAHAHAHA oh I almost had hope.

What if I told you that I just want to see how far gone down the rabbit hole some people here go of "but it's our only choice of lesser evil!"
As if the consequences don't matter, and the level of acceptable loss is endless as long as the poster hopes to get theirs. In that regard they are simply no different from the Trumpers they fear, except they feel vindicated by having a superior social conscience along the way.
Similar to when the former queen was called a coloniser on AH.com recently. Where someone jumped in to say "Yeah, but so were everyone else. If we were so bad why did they keep our culture and traditions? Have to break a few eggs along the way!" Quite literally devoid of conscience and sold out for their perceived team.
You know, the far right is coasting to victory in Italy. Just won in Sweden, and so on. This trend has been continuing after gaining traction previously in Denmark, Germany, Poland, Hungary, etc. This happens when "the left" turns its back on the people and strings them along.
Eventually, the message of a Trumpian on the neglected and struggling gains traction. If you continue holding your breath for these Pelosis to save abortion or protect minorities then you will suffocate. The popular sentiment of voting blue no matter who is only laying the tinder for the next meltdown of a-la-2016 election night. That is if you don't clean house and stop voting for these 20%+. And not excuse something like this.
I'd like to stress that the Dems are not the left. Which is not commonly understood and accepted enough. The problem with them is that they keep people from making the leftist change they claim they want. You will always come no more than second to the Dems in their list of priorities. Problem is posters around here want something, and just sign off on that desire, and then root for them.
The Dems will not give you anymore than what you force them to. Concessions aren't in your interest, but theirs. That is why they are concessions.
How about voting for a Dem primarying another Dem? They generally lose and ensure the party doesn't change.
Local elections matter. Third parties can win there. You don't have to lack the pragmatism of myself and "ensure republicans win." If no one steps off the "i have to vote for only this Dem or I lose. No one else has a shot." Then it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. It simultaneously disempowers you to do that.
A bunch of Dems voted GOP to try to beat the Dem clerk where I live last month because she was so horrible at her job the state comptroller was trying to have her recalled, even at the expense of a GOP candidate winning.
She still won though and immediately took an indefinite vacation to Jamaica. Has not returned lol
The whole town should have taken care of this lesser of two evils, lol.
You already established the premise that your vote isn't meaningful in your region. Might as well vote for someone you actually believe in. Forming or joining a leftist organization would be more valuable than voting in this case.
I live in a swing state and Ryan has me wanting to vote Republican now too. Thanks Ryan for your insight.
I live in Canada and im not even allowed to vote down there, but Ryan has sold me on those ideals. I will move to America and vote Republican.
Vote red no matter who!
