Blame House Flippers. Like many things in capitalism the point is to make money, not charity.

I mean I hope to have a life of luxury once I go into independent practice, I just don't know that I want that to involve making money off of properties just because someone else needs a place to live.
I'm already despising having to make money off of health, but I'm a professional and have to make a living. I just don't believe health insurance should dictate that and neither should pharmacy companies.
more houses for me to rent #bless
Jeff Jackson just dropped out from the NC senate primary race.
I'm so happy I get to vote in primaries to pick my representatives. Oh wait, I don't, the DNC does.
-_-
Or, we really just need more housing everywhere right now.
In the rural area where I live there is tons of land for sale. The biggest issue right now is that the permits and building process is very expensive AND you cannot get a conventional loan unless you have a HUGE down payment and even then a construction loan is ridiculous amounts of interest and you need to finish the house and pay off the loan rolling over into a mortgage within a short time period.
Again I feel like the changes to zoning are really great but other changes are necessary to attack the problem in a bigger sense for all areas. It would be great if something could be done to help simplify and make accessible the process of developing a piece of land. Perhaps give bonus incentives or subsidies to people wanting to develop a piece of land for a full time primary home and further incentivise them to put rental units on the property?
We should not promote rural housing, no offense Zoob, but I understand you at least tend to some farming on your property. We need to be focusing on bringing people closer to community centers, whether metropolitan or township sized. This emphasis on single family homes with 4k+ sq ft and 1acre of lawn is a pipe dream we need to wake up from.
More housing stock of a variety of sizes is needed.
Yeah, building rural should be more expensive just cause it's so far from all the utilities we take for granted in urban areas. Sorry homey, that's the price for living on all that beautiful land

But they are backing the better candidate.
Cheri Beasley has already run statewide three times; she lost the chief justice post by only 401 votes out of 5.4 million. Someone who has already received nearly 2.7 million votes in a statewide election, especially one where both Trump and Tillis won and had coattails, is a strong candidate.
Manchin officially killed the social spending bill today.

This cunt
And people wondered why the Hyper Left didn't want to vote on the other bill until this one passed. It happened just like they said it would.
Manchin's ability to fuck over his entire party's platform is truly inspiring.
in a saner system individuals like him and AOC would not be a part of the same party
