The keyboard thing seems completely benign if unfortunate. I have to imagine that access cards are shut down during a lockdown event.

There are logs for these sort of things. Trivially easy to see whose access was revoked, and when, and by whom. If it was everyone, automatically, because of a lockdown it's nothing. If it was specific people it's a very different thing.

    But her emails.

But yeah, assuming no tampering, timing is also important. If there is an emergency lockout protocol, any restriction enacted before given word would be hella sus, group or individual.

Still get the vibe the intention was to brutalize as many Dems as they could get their hands on while taking out Pence to invoke martyrdom through obfuscation with the antifa lie. Majority of the mob may not have been in on it, but they didn't need to be with all the manipulation and gaslighting leading up to the day.

No it was not, other staff were hiding in their reps offices.

    https://hillreporter.com/report-penc...offices-117343

In a stunning Twitter thread on Wednesday, user MuellerSheWrote reveals that an anonymous source is confirming that former Vice President Mike Pence, his aides, and staff discovered a little too late on January 6th that their access badges had been deactivated. They were all locked out of their offices within the Capitol complex, forcing Pence and his aides to hide on a loading dock.
It should be very easy for the committee to find out who digitally revoked/changed that access and who ordered that to happen. Main suspect that makes sense to me is John McEntee, Donald's purity czar in charge of purging anyone remotely considering dissent.

Honestly, can she even win reelection without heavy social media presence?

She still has a telegram, and is asking everyone to go there, but you can't own the libs on a platform that doesn't have libs.

    According to
    https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com...ican_proposal/

she will be in a R+45 voting district if they pass this version of their map (oddly she is R+65 even on the Dem proposed plan). Given that she ran unopposed last time because she threatened her opponent into dropping out of the race. There are a few Dems gearing up to run against her that are on Twitter a lot. But still she's likely gerrymandered into keeping her seat. The best option to get her out is either to have her arrested if it's revealed she did anything illegal like, say planting pipe bombs or sedition, or simply expelling her from Congress.

The Dem map probably just concentrates her support to that district to weaken the GOP in the surrounding areas.

Like yes she's a headache, but she's not going to be easy to get rid of so might as well dilute the GOP by sticking them all in crazy quarantine with her

Yeah and also it doesn't matter since Republicans control Georgia redistricting so it's just of a "putting this suggestion out there" map. Really wish more of the worst GOP members could have been redistricted out of existence. Mary "Hitler was right" Miller may have to face a contested district in Illinois, and Boebert in CO is probably still safe (excepting for possible arrest/expulsion) in a R+15 district. Waiting to see how the hyped "Hochulmander" New York redistricting turns out for Stefanik.

Yeah but her district has nothing to do with that separate phenomena taking over the GOP generally. A Dem map that creates 1 red district at 99-1 with seven surrounding blue districts at 65-35 is better than spreading those GOP voters alone and losing more seats

I understand packing as a strategy. However, its side effects might be undesirable. Splitting her district might result in fewer D seats but more moderate Rs sitting in them if we were still in the 90s

Sure but that Pandora's Box is already opened. So right now I think packing is still the optimal play.

In the end, R's will fall in line. Better to have one super crazy to deal with than a few moderates who are going to fall in line anyways. Plus, it's good to point to for Democrats to paint the right like a bunch of crazy's when they get people like that.

Not sure if srs, so will answer legitimately.

Gerrymandering is any artificial districting to game the system. Packing is a certain subtype of gerrymandering wherein certain voters are concentrated into one district in order to dilute their numbers. The opposite tactic that I highlighted, wherein you take an area with a high concentration of highly partisan voters and divide it up specifically in a way to inflate their influence with slim pluralities in numerous districts, is also gerrymandering. That same tactic can be used, but with larger districts, to dilute those voters' influence rather than inflate it if you make the slices small enough.

A non-gerrymandered map would divide the districts into uniform size/shape irrespective of voter demographics (i.e. as close to squares as possible with the exception of the imperfect state lines) or use some other non-political and non-arbitrary borders (county lines, ZIP codes, etc.) as the basis. There will always be some variation of course -- the districts are allocated via population so you necessarily have to get multiple smaller districts in the big cities to balance the higher density.

Thats what I thought, just interesting how 'gerrymandering' is used as such a negative label for tatic until its time for my team to do it then we call it packing and it sounds a bit nicer
