This part isn't promising tho

For sure the bad faith in that BBB deal was 100% on the blame of """moderate""" Manchin. I don't think it's even accurate to refer to Manchin and whatever the hell Sinema has going on as "moderates", they're more like grifting opportunists at best or outright bought corporate DINOs at worst. A moderate Democrat would not hesitate to support, like, voting at the very fucking least.
RE: Clay Aiken, the district he would be running in is safely Democratic and I think I speak for everyone after the last few years when I say I just don't want anymore celebrity dipshits in Congress. Hard pass give me a professional please.
i don’t live in NC and im tired of celebrity politicians too
well, all politicians really
I work in the district he’s running for and I can tell you now he’s got virtually no shot.
It’s probably the most left district in the state, but it’s for a vacated democratic seat with a swath of dems rushing to fill the void.
With less competition he’d be a shoe in due to the alternative choices. As it stands, if he pulls it off it’ll be hard earned.

Anything is possible though. Still trying to figure out how the ever living shit fuck Mark Robinson got elected.

Next week is MLK Day and the big week for the two voting bills. There's quite the complicated procedural maneuvers going on between Schumer keeping the Senate "day" going unadjourned, and McConnell lining up a "pandora's box" of bills for first reading to delay/block.

Sinema had a long shitty speech today reiterating her refusal to change filibuster rules. Next week will be the actual vote. One senator had some covid precautions or something so it may delay things by a day or two. Let's see if anything changes between now and next week.
A pretty good day for Democrats in 2022 redistricting as moderate Republican Katko of New York announces his resignation making a severe Dem gerrymander of NY easier. Meanwhile the Ohio congressional districts were struck down by the Ohio courts, and the same thing is likely to happen in North Carolina pending a court date in Feb.

gerrymandering is dope!
The GOP in disarray parade continues as the Donald versus the Ronald feud of 2024 turns to unsportsman-like name calling. Trump fans attempting to leave his recent Arizona rally were prevented from exiting the parking lot until it was finished. And now that Matt Gaetz's former girlfriend has been granted immunity it's clear how thoroughly radioactive he is and even Roger Stone is disavowing him. Lastly Dan Crenshaw was trending for bashing a young girl at a speaking event for "questioning his faith". The MAGAs view him as a "RINO" and his district is in safely Republican+30 gerrymandered Texas so it likely won't help Dems but it might result in him being primaried by an even bigger lunatic.

Too much Republican criming lately to keep track of but today the FBI searched the home of a Texas Democrat rep Henry Cuellar. It's unknown why. Cuellar is supposedly a centrist Dem that sits on the appropriations committee. The new district he represents is D+7.

They also raided his campaign office.
Follow up on the raid of Dem house rep Cuellar, appears to be related to campaign finance violations and some shady right-wing characters in anti-abortion circles.

AN ADVISER TO Rep. Henry Cuellar, the conservative Texas Democrat whose home and campaign office was raided by the FBI this week, also leads a dark-money group that recently ran ads against Cuellar’s primary challenger, Jessica Cisneros, according to Federal Election Commission and corporate records. Colin Strother, a longtime Cuellar aide and a consultant who has been embedded on Cuellar’s campaign, is also the head of the secretive Voter Education Foundation. The staffing overlap reveals Cuellar’s close proximity to one of Texas’s most zealous anti-abortion activists.
...
[His progressive primary opponent] 2022 run marks her second attempt to oust the nine-term Cuellar, who is the largest Democratic recipient of private prison donations and was one of the most frequent Democratic supporters of Donald Trump’s policies in the House.
...
Cuellar is the most anti-choice Democrat in the House of Representatives, but his apparent links to such an extremist have not been previously known. He was the only House Democrat to vote against a historic bill to protect abortion access in September — just a few weeks after the most restrictive anti-abortion law in the country went into effect in Texas.
At the same time that fascist group Patriot Front arrived in D.C. for the anti-abortion rally this weekend, a hacktivist group through DDOS Secrets has released 500gb of the groups data including identities, training videos of members with no masks, and... excel spreadsheets of their attendance and bodyweight tracking (lol).
