The most surprising was a decision by Alabama's court that would require a second democratic district. Republican redistricting Twitter is in cope mode. Still a lot of states are into the litigation stage of the process that can be unpredictable.

NY has released their redistricting plan and it's a tad more conservative than some were advocating in the short-term for 2022 but a better 10 year plan. Surprisingly this is the first time Dems have controlled redistricting in NY in 110 years.

Not really related to Congress but IDK where to put this news so this seems good as any. Secret Service reported to be guarding John Bolton for unknown reasons and were stated to have left with black bags. Also a bit mysterious, feds raided the home of an ICE official today.

The elevated security presence has drawn the attention of Bolton’s neighbors posting on Next Door, an app that allows people living in the same neighborhood to communicate. One person who lives in the area told Forbes that she first noticed increased security in front of Bolton’s house a few weeks ago. “The level of coverage seems to have escalated,” the person said, explaining that she first noticed an unmarked black SUV, then a sedan with a U.S. government license plate, then the two Secret Service Police vehicles, all of which were manned.

Some more good news for Dems in house redistricting out of PA. Unclear how the "special master" (god I'm so sick of this weird term) will ultimately map things but will be less than an outright grotesque Republican gerrymander. North Carolina also heard oral arguments on the Republican gerrymander today and is destined to be sent back similarly.

In a pretty stunning turnaround, redistricting has actually brought us to a point where Dems would keep the House/split 50-50 in the event that the popular vote is tied.

Biden's approval rating being at 42% could put a stop to that anyway though.
