Anyone hoarding astronomical wealth is evil. Perhaps not "puppy-kicking, child-abusing" evil, but billionaires only exist by virtue of grossly underpaying the workers who actually create those billions. I'm not advocating for the killing of billionaires, but I'm absolutely not going to shed a tear or act like them getting shot is some horrific sign that society is eroding. Society is in a constant state of adaptation and erosion. In this nation, its constantly eroding even as other sections of it evolve. On the financial side, its been eroding since even before Reagan snoockered every white family in the nation into believing that getting pissed on by the rich was going to somehow grant them the ability to do it someone else.

When poor people reach their breaking point, rich people die because of it. That's history. That's our species. You want our species to evolve past it? Release a super-plague that kills 99% of it and hope that the survivor's freak mutations lead to a species of humans without tribalism.

No one here is suggesting anyone should take that kind of action. Most of us—if not all—wouldn't condone it, but we can understand it. It’s not surprising because the reason is clear. They don’t even need to find this person and bring them in alive for everyone to know why they acted that way. It’s likely because he or someone he loves is dying or dead due to the decisions made by that CEO and others like him.

I can’t remember where I heard it, but someone once said, “Everyone is just nine meals away from violence.” Nine meals away from stealing, harming, or even killing. Meanwhile, the wealthy continue to drain every last dime from the middle class and lower-income people while using their billions to dismantle social programs—the very programs that help ensure those nine meals are still within reach.

I’m bracing for the moment when those on the right finally succeed in gutting these programs because I know they’re the only things keeping the wealthy safe. If those safety nets disappear, chaos will begin within days of the food or assistance running out. You can’t force people to accept wages that don’t feed their families, strip away their ability to choose whether or not to have children, and still expect the system to hold forever.

Eventually, the bill comes due.

Gonna venture a guess it's easier to walk up to a CEO than a SC judge relative to security details. That'll probably change for a bit in the short term, but these aren't exactly people being blasted on Fox as a hero/villain depending on political leaning.

But as Yabby said, it's not particularly difficult to derive a motive here. We could maybe throw in a left field, "He fucked my wife!" revenge kill, but it's more likely healthcare related.

Nah I agree with you here, but it's a far cry from saying "good, kill them all".

I won't be sad about terrible people getting their karma, but I draw the line at encouraging the chaos.

I absolutely hate UHC, and they frequently deny claims they should be covering. Still wouldn't advocate for killing people. Sorry.
