Well it sure as shit wasn't gonna be the start of some kind of revolution against the overlords like the internet seemed to think. Especially since it seems like the dude might have just been a weirdo and wasn't doing it for some greater justice or righting a wrong.
I think you take internet comments and memes too seriously. No one thought that.
I mean, if anything the public is more knowledgeable on how blatantly fucked up everything is. And if it makes these traitorous CEO fucks fear for their lives, I'm okay with that.
Unfortunately that revolution will never come. No matter how bad it gets there's never enough willpower to move anything.
No they wished it. But no one seriously thought it was coming. And no, it doesn't just require motivation. Even if you are motivated it's hard to have a fucking revolution with the power imbalances in play.
It’s usually a case of people with the balls to do something have too much to lose versus people with nothing to lose not having the balls. But occasionally, you get that perfect mix to light the powder keg

Plausible
Wonder if there was an underlying "emergent schizophrenia" in there somewhere or no. He's about the age that would start to show.

This is a matter of basic math. Finding the perfect balance becomes simpler as the number of people with nothing to lose increases. When only 5% of the population falls into this category, the likelihood of them taking decisive action is relatively low. However, when that figure rises to 15%, the probability escalates to a point where the eruption of a metaphorical powder keg becomes inevitable.
The dude was in his training arc.
fat lazy wealthy nations don't have revolutions. without significant societal collapse it's never coming here and is never going to. CEOs aren't going to walk around scared. if they did it would make their behavior and exploitation of the have-nots worse not better. the only thing this guy accomplished was the production of memes and a single murder.
it's more boring than the internet likes but the Democrats getting 62 Senate seats in 2008 or Bernie Sanders winning in 2016 was how we were going to head to universal healthcare. and whenever the electorate votes for people that want to enact it is how we're going to get it in 5 or 10 or 50 years. not through a schizophrenic killing a person no one knew before their death.
Spoiler: show

So much for the guy to be a smart and clever assassin.

Am I crazy or is this the same guy a few days ago complaining that someone one named him the shooter, and how that's wrong and can get him hurt. Then someone quoted his previous reply about how the truth doesn't matter just the story or something like that.
I can't be imagining this. This guy was discovered online days before the McDonald's incident.
