In shocking news today, there has been a mass school shooting here in Canada. It was in a small town NE in British Columbia, called Tumbler Ridge.

Suspect went into the local High School and started shooting.

10 people are dead, including the suspect. More are in critical condition.

Shooter was a woman with brown hair and wearing a dress. 6 died in the school, 2 in the surrounding area, and 1 en route to the hospital.

Suffice to say, with the news coming out, and what people are seeing with their online history, this was one rather unstable person, who also had weapons confiscated in the past.

tl;dr: A bunch of millionaires from all over the world routinely paid Serbian fighters in the Bosnian War to kill civilians for fun. Allegedly, they often paid extra so they could target kids and pregnant women. All of them got away with it.

I remember hearing of this like a year ago or longer/shorter and was more speculation I think and was met with the "no way that would ever happen!"

The FBI & the DHS' terrorism unit is investigating a link to the war in Iran.

Austin shooter was a naturalized American citizen from Senegal, had been in the US since 2008. Possible terrorism link is being investigated but nothing definitive yet. Austin sheriff's office did also point out the individual has a history of mental illness.

But I'll bite. Based on what I was taught about laws here in NC (obviously not Indiana, but still pretty normal self defense laws) when I got my CCW, I would fully expect to be going to jail if I were the shooter in this instance. Stand your ground generally doesn't give you license to endanger bystanders, and is voided if you willfully escalated the encounter. In public, you generally also have a duty to avoid deadly force if given the chance, but given that the other car blocked his and the dude punched his window in, I'd say there's a pretty fair argument for immediate danger to his life at that moment.

I'd expect this to get you an attaboy in FL though, especially in the panhandle. The new SYG laws down there are some crazy fucking wild west type shit.
