Second shooting in as many weeks involving heavy body armor. Honest question because I don't know: How hard is that stuff to get? Is it expensive or require any kind of background check?
A lot of my family is into guns so when somebody tells me they own one I don't think much of it, but if somebody told me they had tactical body armor that would raise my eyebrow quite a bit. I don't know anybody who does.
I dunno how kitted out this guy was but it's trivial to buy bulletproof vests online.

should always be remembered support for universal background checks is 85%, allowing police to confiscate guns from anyone flagged as a danger to themselves or others is 80%, support for a national database of gun sales/ownership 70%, assault rifle / high-capacity magazines ban 65%.
reform is being held hostage by a handful of Republican leaders who dogmatically oppose the majority view of even members of their own party. system is failing us.
Almost nothing conservatives have forced through or overturned in recent memory has had popular support. In many cases, as you note, overwhelmingly not.
hmm
you know maybe we should arm the teachers since the cops seem to absolute pussies

protect and serve (my best interests)
Apparently he had a "plate carrier" (like a "tactical vest") that didn't actually have any armor in it. Any cop shooting him center mass ends this without the slaughter.
Hell, when police shot and killed my friend Bryce he was wearing a vest, didn't matter, the vest doesn't protect everything.
