I was waiting for this one to pop up. There have been several historical events in our recent past that motivated changing up the building codes. The Shirtwaist Factory disaster and 9/11 are among the biggest. These school shootings won't make code officials blink.

Like I fully understand the police securing the area from the public to keep them safe. That's what you're supposed to do. But to secure it and let that guy just wreak havoc on this kids would break my spirit if I were there.

There's also an interview where one of the police officers confirmed that some other officers went in to take their own kids out of school.
