6Souls' post say there are at least more than 1 who don't deserve to own guns.
ya some people should def be prevented
I've seen a lot of Americans mention their 2nd amendment right to bear arms when using pro-gun discourse, and it generally steers towards "preventing government tyranny" if at some point the white house decides to go rogue, or at least something along those lines.
Now, given the sheer might of the US military, should the US government turn against its own people, do the ordinary citizens, some as military trained as can be, really expect to pull off some sort of "upset" and "reclaim" Washington D.C.? Or is it just one of those "you go down shooting!" types of deal?
I understand patriotism plays a big role in this, which is perhaps why I have trouble understanding it, given that I am not patriotic at all, and therefore have some trouble grasping the very concept of patriotism itself.
Being serious, and maybe naive.
Thanks for engaging.
A small group of determined armed people could certainly effectively attack a portion of the government that they believe to be operating out of pocket, whether it is the Supreme Court, a legislative faction or the president.
And given the amount of weapons in this country a large-scale guerilla insurgency could give the US military problems for years if sufficiently motivated.
But no, armed citizens could not "defeat" the US military in conventional warfare if the military wasn't also split by the divide.
there is quite a bit of overlap of military members with 2a favortism
real talk though guns aren't even really necessary to sabotage the country on a massive scale, just drop a few lit matches on a windy dry day in tandem across california and you could shut down the state.
with 100 people acting in unison using simple tools how hard would it really be to bring a lot of infrastructure to a grinding halt for some time and cause chaos
what percentage of the military would actually attack US citizens also
Nope. Bullshit take because it would never ever fly to even try it this with rationale and also that's stupid rationale.
I don't own any guns but they are a lot of fun, like someone else said half the reason some people have tons of guns is just due to gifts/inheritance and such (You get all the guns of another gun owner if you slay them in Mortal Kombat)
Depends how well your propaganda works against those you're othering
Latest details on the Oklahoma hospital shooter is he traveled 50 miles (Muskogee) to get there and that it was a targeted attack. Bomb squad had to clear his home.
I can't keep up with this story, but have y'all talked about how the police might have shot a kid, on top of all the other covering up going on including that missing radio audio...

Wow, same day purchase? That feels new
these individuals generally have an extremely brittle view of the Republic and enjoy the fantasy of larping as revolutionary era soldiers. and yes they absolutely believe the rhetoric that they and their gun cabinets are the only things standing between the government and the kind of tyranny that envelops New Zealand and France and Japan.
hey there ponderous doombringer arsonists, don't forget Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico will all burn pretty well too
