Putting ones own priorities and idealism above everything else? That is not very odd at all. Both dominate US political ideologies do this in different ways, and both lack the empathy of the other side, as it is invalid to the other. Yeah, this guy has some warped conservative viewpoints, but he isn't an anomaly at all. Casting off all these ultra conservative retards as worthless is why they sneak back up on you and take the WH, Supreme Court, etc. They are in fact a noteworthy regressive voting bloc that can't just be done away with by a bunch of reactionary scorn.
