I don't mind Rojas tbh. I think he was in the conversation for manager of the year after that first half, there was all kinds of adversity and it was held together with spit and gum. Then everyone (except Alonso/Nimmo, only ones fucking playing) decided to suck at the same time and we no longer had an automatic win every 5 days.

Which, fun fact: DeGrom has not pitched since before the all-star break and is still top 10 in MLB in WAR.

I say this as objectively as possible, but the Mets success this season was directly tied to an underperforming division. Even when they were in first place their offense was abysmal.

Naw. I don't doubt that's your perspective but they were under .500 against the division at the break and still are. 8-8 against both Philly and Atlanta currently. Unless your implication is that someone else should have been able to do better than 10 games over .500, but it certainly wasn't built on the NL East.

And tbh Philly never stopped sucking and Atlanta didn't get actually their shit together. They're just off a stretch versus Washington, Miami, then Baltimore... while the Mets just played Dodgers, Giants, Dodgers, Giants.

Also some of that Im sure. The next week should pretty much seal it, the schedule flips and now you guys got the Dodgers/Giants and the Mets play 15 straight against Nats/Miami. Even assuming we decide to win a few, as long as you can do better than our 1-11 versus those teams I think you lock it up. Philly aint shit.
