The testing there is really good too.
A lot of the problem with some of these places having massive positivity rates like Michigan is due to very low testing. Test positivity rate becomes significantly less reliable if you aren't testing a ton of people overall. Actual positive % people in many states is probably overstated. By a lot in some places.
It's especially remarkable because it's not like we lack poor people packed into overcrowded, multi-generational housing either.
Looks like it's all of Ontario's policing services now officially. Albeit, it's been changed from 'they can stop random people' to 'they can stop anyone whom they suspect is participating in a large gathering'. Here's the direct quote from a CBC article: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toron...ecks-1.5991872
Soooooo basically it's the exact same power just worded to be less broad reaching.... despite the fact that it can easily easily be used in the exact same manner if the cops want to be dicks about it"If a police officer or other provincial offences officer has reason to suspect that you are participating in an organized public event or social gathering, they may require you to provide information to ensure you are complying with restrictions," Jones said
"Every individual who is required to provide a police officer or other provincial offences officer with information shall promptly comply."
I give it a week before you have examples of anti-mask rallies where they don't do shit but conversely a bunch of stories of PoC being harassed and fined for going to the grocery store
Ontario is such a shit show that not only are the Feds stepping in to take over the situation, but Americans are calling for Ford to resign

Brother in law was over all Saturday evening, and he just popped hot. Everyone is vaccinated fully except for me, who only has the first dose pfizer. We also def hung out in a small room playing video games for hours.
Hopefullyyyyy that first dose data is accurate cause I fucked around and am about to find out.

I'm 50% sure I had it with only my first pfizer shot and I basically got a bad cold for a couple days.
Nope. He lives with his school teacher gf who is vaccinated, but he was too lazy to get his shot asap. This is all on him. He dodged covid for a year while graduating and working two jobs, and the second he could actually be protected from the virus he just sits on his hands and catches the virusI hope he remains mildly symptomatic but the irony of the situation is too much

Is it all on him when you actively hung out with him?
...yes? I just explained he has the opportunity to get a vaccine and hasn't. The other person in his household is already vaccinated. My entire household is vaccinated. All available evidence says even I, with half the vaccine regime, is likely sufficiently protected 3 weeks out.
The risks are (almost) all on him at this point, not that I shouldn't be somewhat concerned that I might get a fever and sniffles in a couple days.
