I'm really not sure where the "dark winter" projections are coming from that predict this continuing, exponentially increasing mountain of cases all the way through the remainder of the year. I don't have the knowledge to contest it at all but it just seems impossible to me. There are a finite number of people out there after all. And it's not done that in any other country that's had a wave. Why just here?

Lol what? Viruses don't just burn out and vanish because reasons. They burn out when they're no longer virulent or lethal, and that's either when it mutates to a less harmful strain or enough people die to where it can't spread and mutate as rapidly as it would need to in order to overcome herd immunity.

Donor is a billionaire ceo of one of the largest hedge funds in the world and it’s not surprising to see that an extremely small fractions (0.04% ish) of their holdings are invested in regeneration. The article even points out that they have a larger position in moderna and Pfizer.

Maybe if the argument were that the donor directly had a bunch of shares and not the hedge fund but this one just seems like a reach.

If Regeneron were a direct donor or even if the CEO were a direct shareholder rather than just the hedge fund it would be a muuuuuch stronger argument. As it stands now it just seems like Desantis is riffing on the 'muh freedoms' thing and parroting whatever anyone else on the right says regarding the issue which is often the Regeneron treatment.

Palm beach county school reopenings were themselves a super spreader event, and only just now did away with the mask opt out, making them mandatory. People are getting infected and dying cause of DeSantis's stupid posturing, fuck him.
