You're literally arguing semantics dude.
It's along the same ideology and does just as much harm.

Nah he's right, technically desantis hasn't been antivax, he's just been loudly anti-covid mitigation policies while trying to be Lowkey provax.
The only reason hundreds of students are quarantined in palm beach is cause they made an opt out for masks, at the peak of delta season, because of fear from deathsantis. Seriously, fuck that guy.

I'm not arguing your point but I just want to understand something because I genuinely do not get it.
There are headlines up right now saying "Delta will infect you, guaranteed" implying every human in the USA is going to get it. We also think the virus provides natural immunity for, at least, months. Maybe longer, maybe not, but definitely a little while.
By this logic it is absolutely 100% impossible for cases to continue to grow forever. Yes it'll come back eventually once immunity in those without additional protection (vaccines) but surely it would take quite some time right?
Again, this appears to have happened in India. They may have up to 4 million deaths. This would infer tens of millions to hundreds of millions of cases.
I'm not implying that COVID will eradicate itself by infecting everyone, but I just cannot see a reality where there are somehow a fresh batch of people for it to keep infecting at this rate forever. It has to come down.
think of h1n1. it hasn't disappeared despite hitting a billion people the year it resurfaced. it's not a particularly dangerous virus so nobody gives a shit about it, but it's infected the entire world at this point and is still around and kicking
I mean yeah? That's not any different than what I said. I'm just discounting the headlines that we're in for this eternal doom of exponential growth for months on end. That's what seems impossible to me. Seems more likely to be peaks and valleys, with the peaks getting smaller over time.
Jesus ChristThe School District of Palm Beach County said there have been 704 confirmed COVID-19 cases since Aug. 10, including 608 students and 96 employees.
As of Tuesday, at least 3,055 students have been told to stay home for possible COVID-19 exposure.
Old joke at this point, but all i could think of reading that ^ was, this is why they call Florida God's waiting room. Blows my mind DeSantis can't be held liable for actively pushing against the safety of his citizens.
Yes - in this case as literally the same dude and same hedge fund has MORE invested in pfizer and moderna. It's all in the AP article. Based on the weight of the ties and the donor by all accounts the ties are even heavier with these companies. I'm unsure about Oxford/J&J. This is why I'm saying it's a weak argument.
All that being said it's mostly just the right trying to be reactive (post infection treatment) rather than proactive (vaccine/distancing/masks) because muh freedoms. You could make a good analogy to how it's similar to how they look at climate change.
In other news my wifes Dad decided to be in a stage production of the adams family in small town texas. He got involved before delta was around and was fully vaccinated and all that and it was way less of a risk.
Now after the very last show 90%+ of cast and crew have covid and he had a fever for a few days but is testing negative even after symptoms started.
Worst part is he's a freaking pulmonologist that worked in the covid ward during until around last winter and is 100% pro vaccine, mandates, the works. He flat out admitted that he ignored the revised recommendations by the CDC due to delta simply because he had already invested a lot of time in the play and didn't want it taken away from him.

Great, now we all have to try to wrap our minds around Simpson's paradox?
Wife is finally getting her first COVID shot tomorrow, she will get the second in 5-6 weeks (she's probably going to give birth in 3-4 weeks, and I recommended she wait until after birth, just incase the second shot knocks her on her ass)
shots, shots, shots, etc

not really “on strike”; just refusing to teach in person until better guidelines are in place
That's what "on strike" means. Refusing to work until their demands are met.
they aren’t refusing to work, lol.
“most faculty will use alternative instructional methods for course delivery”
they will still be teaching, just not in person
Welp I misread it
Its ok, unlike Rora, I inherently assume no one on BG actually knows how to read.
