But the family, who had all the reasons to throw some serious shade, came through clutch when interviewed. He had no previous medical history.

RIP, the family must’ve been devastated. I hope this single case won’t end up getting cropped and served as a propaganda for anti-vaxers.

I am wondering, was he unlucky enough to be in the very tiny percentage that vaccine fails to protect (as far as I know it is still very effective at preventing death, even if its delta) or was it his antibody levels falling?

If its the second case he may not be the last and we may have to start rolling boosters rather soon. I understand there is an ethical dilemma with billions without access to a single dose in the underdeveloped regions but ffs, for once UN should step up and create a fund and a logistics action plan that will provide free vaccine to those regions. Sinovac, Sputnik, AstraZ, Pfizer..anything that works really.
