Italy did
Italy did
I thought lockdowns were illegal.
Thats Sweden.
lockdown semantics
"we didn't do a lockdown"
life been total shit for over a year, cant even see your family at thanksgiving
sorry your family sucks or that you let politics come between you
Are you truly sorry?
It's always weird when people say you shouldn't let politics and a person's beliefs stop you from wanting to be around that person. People truly think because you're blood that they should get a pass to be trash. Sorry I don't wanna hear Uncle Joe go off on sexist or racist rants after the first sip of beer.
Before Day starts his whole it was a joke and you're all to serious it wasn't about him.
ruin your family relationships and support because you don't agree on the way the government should be run
that mentality explains a lot tbh
If it was just about how the government was run, this wouldn't be a discussion. And you know that, some fail tier trolling today.
Oh I didn't start that rift... they started that rift awhile back, I just let em dig it deeper. Less I have to deal with them the better. Hell, they pretend my son doesn't even exist (my parents for some reason have this weird thing about special needs people being 2nd tier, and my son is a special needs child so yeah... they can fuck right off with that.)
Day's point falls apart because it's based on the hypothetical that there are somehow families out there with views that are complete anathema to each other but yet they're somehow completely functional and friendly with each other just because
I have never, ever seen this. There's always a rift. Even if you pretend it's not there.
Nobody is talking about political affiliation here.
My views are basically the complete opposite of my evangelical Christian Fox/Rush brain poisoned conservative Republican in-laws but we get along just fine
However, if they or I were trying to constantly bring up politics in regular conversations it would be a problem
But we both recognize that and therefore mostly don't, like normal people
Trolling the libs is part of the conservative identity, as "if only you could see how wrong you are"-style conversion is part of the liberal identity.
People who don't subscribe to those particular parts of the identities can get along as long as there is literally no adversity.
My mother-in-law was an Obama-Trump voter. She went full Trump and worships Tucker Carlson. She can't be around anyone without bringing up politics. Sent out a text in the family text group pleading everyone to not get any of the kids in the family vaccinated. All three of her daughters are incredibly liberal. They have spoken with her about bringing up politics during family gatherings, but she often can't help herself. My new family role is to troll the shit out of her when this happens, which is what I do. It's become quite fun.
