It seems it's a very white thing to think politics literally exist in a vacuum and those things you vote for and believe in don't affect the world around you. Because it usually doesn't affect middle class and higher people especially when they're white.

But then again if your interactions are always superficial then you can avoid any important topics. Even that's difficult now, the weather and climate are affected by Politics.

You've been to my parents house then, because that's exactly how they have their house set up. Once my dad retired and my mom was forced to relocate along with him...they basically did a 180. They are def not the people that they were when I was growing up. Overall generally hateful people...and I just refuse to let myself and my son around that. They can keep that to themselves and if they want to let it eat away at their lives...go right head. Just leave me out of it.
