i think the epidemiologists correct and the US vaccination rate is going to stall and fall short of herd humanity which (when combined with new variants and the indeterminate immunity of non-vaccinated people who have previously contracted Covid) will see daily deaths in the low 100s for the indefinite future. greatly determined by locality, of course. parts of LA County will see a 90% adult vaccination rate, parts of Mississippi will see sub 50%. but nationally it is simply to become a fact of life. the new flu.

This is why single day numbers are never indicative of the true answer. 7-14 day rolling averages are the best way to view data.

i was inexact in phrasing as 50-70 are the 7 day rolling averages for the past few weeks, single day figures range from 20 to over 100. there has not yet been a 0 death day in California but i believe Archi became confused by LA County reporting such and thinking it was statewide.

I know people gonna want to shred me for this but w/e.

I will probably not be getting my daughter the Covid shot for at least a year even if approved. (She's 9, and it's getting there bit by bit.)

I have seen two reports now of women who claim their menstrual cycles have been messed up for 3 cycles. (Keep in mind most women haven't had the shot long enough for 3 cycles.) I'm on my second and it's still fucked up.

Right now there's a whole lot of "don't worry, still get the shot, but we don't know how long this will last, but we THINK it's ok, but we don't have the data yet" going on and I want them to actually have a real study of long term effects before I fuck my daughter up for her future if she decides to have kids someday.
