The idea, in (semi-) brief: Each episode sees Arnett play Detective Terry Seattle, who appears, for the most part, to just be Will Arnett in a mustache. Seattle is teamed up in each episode with a celebrity partner (with this initial season naming Annie Murphy, Conan O’Brien, Ken Jeong, Kumail Nanjiani, Marshawn Lynch, and Sharon Stone as its roster of guest-gumshoes) to solve a murder. The twist is that, while the show is, for the most part scripted—with different scenarios pre-written, and a pre-determined solution to the crime—the celebrity actor doesn’t get the script, and must instead improvise along with Arnett, and, ultimately, name who they think the culprit is at the end of the episode.
Look, just watch the trailer, it’s right up there.
In other words, this is essentially a big-budget, hyper-committed variant of murder mystery dinner theater, except instead of suffering through dry chicken and ad-libbed “clues,” it’s Annie Murphy being forced to go undercover with a big silly mustache, and without a script.
Murderville is being showrun and executive produced by Krister Johnson, lately of Medical Police and Children’s Hospital. The series is adapted from a BBC3 series, Murder In Successville. Murderville premieres on Netflix on February 3.
Okay, I see the appeal now.

Spoof series with murder mysteries seem to be ubiquitous lately. I only caught the Conan episode of that, but I'll come back to it when I have time for it.
But in addition to After Party running on Apple+ now, there's also the Kristen Bell/Lifetime movie spoof that was released last week.
and then going back a few months, but I'm not sure if it was brought up here, but hulu's "Only Murders in the Building" was excellent.
Unrelated to those, Reacher was released on Prime today.
Star Trek: Prodigy EP9-10(Season 1 Mid-Final).
I think they're still struggling with pacing, spots of this feel rushed or like they're skipping over a few too many continuity shots. The diviner wanted to use the protostar to stop First Contact and destroy the federation using time travel, but the plan went awry and he with the ship got stuck farther into the past than anticipated and the diviner was trying to reclaim the ship to set his plan back into motion before First Contact day.
Star Trek Prodigy has been enjoyable thus far as a kids action show. Its strengths lie in that direction. I do not recommend it for any hardcore Star Trek fan.
Netflix Exclusive.
It seems the sexual and adult content will be intact.
I'm going to go back and re-read the whole manga to prep for this because it's been a loooong time.
The original OVA is a classic but it was short. This series is going to be 24 episodes. (Hopefully more)
DAMN I'M SO HYPE NOW!!

All of the Netflix Marvel shows will be leaving the platform at the end of the month.
I watched the first two episodes of Cuphead. I like it, a bit spastic, reminds me of Rodger Rabbit (without the live action).
Been looking forward to the next F1 overview. Also, it's funny that Netflix still has the rights to DC-CW shows. I thought for sure that would be shored up by HBO Max by now.
