    AT&T and Discovery Networks are merging to create a new media giant

    It’s reportedly a $43 billion dollar deal. AT&T will shed all of their media assets over to Discovery, and remain focused on telecommunications (and shed $43 billion in debt), while Discovery will take control of the media assets including HBO and Warner Bros studios. The deal is set to finalize mid 2022 pending approval from Discovery shareholders and regulatory approvals.

    The way all of it is worded makes me think I'm going to no longer have free HBOMAX included with my ATT fiber.

    Thus I am against this deal

    Same. I don't use it often, maybe once or twice a month for an occasional movie if I have a day off. May have to do a massive binge of Metalocalypse and Boondocks.

    Pour one out for that free HBOMAX. I always have one of their tv shows on while I'm working, so that's going to suck losing that free entertainment.
